Punjab government plans to open field hospital in Taftan
LAHORE: On Wednesday, the provincial core committee planned to set up a field hospital with a quarantine facility in Taftan to inspect pilgrims arriving from Iran at first.
The decision appears to be the result of a backlash, which found that the first group of pilgrims who were sent to various provinces after 14 days of quarantine were positive for the corona virus.
The Apex Committee also planned to turn the Hajj terminal in Lahore into a quarantine center for passengers suspected of being infected with a corona virus.
The meeting in the Prime Minister’s Secretary was led by Prime Minister Usman Buzdar, attended by Lahore Corps commander Lieutenant General Majid Ehsan, general officer, general commander of the 10th division, General Anek-ur-Rehman Malik, general manager of the rangers, Major General Punjabi Amir Majid, Minister of Justice Basharat Raja, Minister of Health Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Secretary General of IG, ACS (Home) and other civil and military officials.
